What exactly do I get when I mint?

You receive a signed, numbered Vernis NFT on Ethereum — a collectible in its own right. As an NFT holder, you can claim a complete preservation kit: Raspberry Pi 5 with pre-loaded software, 4" IPS display, 128GB storage, custom PETG enclosure, power supply, and an assembly guide. Everything you need to build your own preservation gallery.

How does claiming the kit work?

After minting, your NFT is marked as "unclaimed" and can be freely traded on secondary markets. When you're ready, burn the NFT to claim your kit — we collect your shipping details and ship the components to you. Unclaimed NFTs may carry additional value since they still include the kit redemption right.

Is it hard to assemble?

Not at all. The kit comes with a step-by-step guide. The software is pre-loaded on the SD card — assembly is just connecting the display to the Pi and placing it in the enclosure. No soldering, no coding. Once powered on, access the web interface from any device on your network to connect your wallet.

What NFTs does Vernis support?

Vernis supports Ethereum-based NFTs including images, GIFs, and video. Connect your wallet, and Vernis automatically fetches and backs up all compatible artwork to local IPFS storage. You can connect multiple wallets and curate a unified gallery.

What happens if Vernis the company disappears?

Nothing changes. You own the components, the software is open-source, and the files are stored locally. Your gallery runs completely independently on standard hardware — you can maintain it yourself indefinitely.

How long does the SD card last?

SD cards have a limited lifespan — typically 5–10 years depending on usage. We recommend replacing the SD card every few years as preventive maintenance. The software is pre-loaded and open-source, so you can easily flash a new card. Your NFT collection is backed up locally and can be re-synced at any time.

What is OpenClaw?

OpenClaw is an open-source art display and management platform. The Vernis kit is fully compatible with OpenClaw, giving you additional flexibility for how you display and interact with your collection.
